Autumnal Full Moon Day, the 15th day of the 8th Lunar Month

The 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the full moon day, is called ChuSeok or HanGaWi.

As this day marks the harvest time, it is regarded as Thanksgiving Day in America.

Nowdays, Koreans perform worshiping ritual of their ancestors with food made of new crops(SongPyeon, a crescent-shaped rice cake is one major food) early in the morning, visiting the tombs of their ancestors and trim the plants of the tombs.

A variety of folk games are played on ChuSeok. A tug of rope in the GyeongSang Province and GangGangSulLae in the JeonLa Province are conducted. And farmer's musical band is prevalent in all provinces.
