the early capital of Baekje. |

Three Kingdoms Period, Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla often fought
to gain |

control
of Seoul. |

Seoul is
located in the center of Corea, and the Hangang flows through

That is
why the strongest kingdom ruled over Seoul. |

After Silla
unified the three kingdoms, Seoul came to be called "Hanyang,"
then "Yangju" |

and then
"Namgyeong." |

In the late
Goryeo period, it was called "Hangyang" again. |

In 1392,
King Taejo founded the Joseon dynasty. |

And the
capital city was moved to Hanyang in 1394. |

With Corea's
liberation in 1945, the name was changed to "Seoul,"
and in 1946, Seoul |

became seperate
from Gyeonggi-do as a special city in Corea. |
